Yes. I don't expect Yuli's PEDS to sustain him through next season...er, I mean... You really have decided he's on PEDs. Why? How is he any different than any other young, strong player hitting superballs.?
Just looks like the Whamo company was working with the MLB in Puerto Rico.

Good, but still too many base-runners. But at least he's working out his control issues off the plate. Now he needs to work on control in the strike zone.

I also like that his GO/AO ratio so far is just shy of 3.00.

Looks like Jeremy Pena is adjusting to the more advanced pitchers he is seeing in the Arizona Fall League. He played this past season at Full Season A and Advanced A before being sent to the AFL where he went 0-22 in his first 7 games. In his last 3 games he is 5-13 with a double, triple and home run.

The AFL Fall Stars game will be played Saturday. JJ Matijevic is the only Astros prospect who was selected to participate in the game. He had a big game last night for Peoria. This from mlb.com:
“J.J. Matijevic, 1B, Astros No. 17 Matijevic collected three hits and recorded his first multi-RBI game in the Fall League, driving in all three runs in Peoria’s 3-2 win over Scottsdale. Each of the Astros prospect’s three hits had a triple-digit exit velocity: Matijevic connected for his second AFL homer, a 106.9-mph solo shot that traveled 400-plus feet, in his first at-bat; he hit a 106.3-mph single in the fourth and delivered a go-ahead, two-run single in the seventh that registered at 102.3 mph. He finished 3-for-4 to improve his average to .323 and leads the league with 20 hits in 15 games.”
Maybe he could be our first baseman after next season if he can “stay off the weeeeeedah!”

Wasting that level of talent should incur jail time. From some of the stuff I’ve read I am getting the impression that his biggest problem is between his ears. I don’t know whether to think it is something he will overcome with maturity or never overcome because, due to his his affluent upbringing, he has a sense of entitlement that is embedded in him which prevents him from maturing.

Whitley has slipped but his era for the afl is 2.88. Not too shabby, but not great either. The more important thing is that he has another 25 innings on his resume for this year. He will be in mlb next year.

Fangraphs rates the Astros farm system as the #24 farm system in MLB. Quite a drop in the last couple years. The trade for Greinke weakened our farm system considerably.
