Unfortunately, those "bad days" for Bregman look worse when they come while the fans are chanting "MVP MVP!" every at-bat.

Yeah, it looks so bad for them to chant MVP for a guy with an OPS over 1.000 in the postseason. Looks so dumb.

We don't know since the ball wasn't fielded. Overall, Bregman had a wore night than anyone else......got doubled off first base to kill one threat and grounded into a DP to kill another one. Yeah, it was a bad day for Bregman. It was a bad day for most of them. I read an article this morning that said "Greinke had another lackluster post-season performance" That is BS......He allowed three runs in six innings to a good hitting Yankee team. He did his job but had NO run support. When you get blanked, don't whine about the pitching.

I'm just not going to be upset with a guy after an 0-2 with a BB day when he has been coming through all season.

The 'hit" he got last night was a tailor made DP ball that turned into a hit because the SS and 2B didn't know who should field it.......Torres was on the bag waiting for the flip from Didi, wno let the ball go through. That was not a legitimate hit. Nah they weren't going to have a play even if they fielded it. It just wouldn't have gotten the runner to third. I’m going with Coach on this one. That really was a tailor-made double play grounder. At the very least, it was a definite fielder’s choice.

If it was Jake you'd say he smashed it and had the best hit of the game.

Can y'all repeat your arguments about Jose's hit last night? I didn't read it the first 30 times and don't want to go searching through this topic for it. Thanks

I guess we could just make non-baseball related comments about other people's comments and never actually discuss baseball. Oh wait, we have Batman for that. 😃

Son, did you not see me ask what Altuve's stat line was as of 10/12/19? Or did that get lost in the Double Play Jose chatter?

So, because I'm bored, a quick projection of Altuve's career postseason numbers for a full regular season:
48 HR 104 RBI 120 Runs 16 SB 188 Hits .288/.348/.546 .894 OPS

Altuve has world-class bat-to-ball skills and I love to watch him play. Overall he has shown up big in big games. My only criticism of him is that he swings at bad pitches too often and his hand-eye coordination is so great that he actually puts those balls in play, usually to his (and the team's) detriment. Just because he CAN hit just about anything doesn't mean he should. But even with his flaws I'll still take him over 99% of everyone else.

My only real complaint is that I think he should bunt more, especially when they shift on him. That, or learn to slap the ball the opposite way more often. (Kind of like he did on the run and hit play in Game 3.)
I get frustrated with the lack of patience sometimes, but I've come to believe that he just doesn't have a very good eye for taking pitches. He doesn't do well choosing borderline pitches to take, and you can see that in his approach with full counts and 2-2 counts. By far his worst averages of any counts. He doesn't like getting to those type of counts.
So, if being aggressive and sometimes rolling over on pitches we'd prefer him take, is his biggest flaw at the plate, I've become okay with it if the overall production is good. I also don't mind him swinging at the first pitch when he's going well and elevating well.
