WHY?Do you think those barely adequate numbers he's putting up in the minors will hold up the majors? Do the Astros desperately need a pinch-runner? Do you have a thing for wimpy hitters who can leg-out an infield single? Do you think only one glove-first outfielder (Marisnick) isn't enough for the team? You're new here, so I'll try to guide you. VD/nathan, aside from his struggles with grammar, syntax and spelling, also struggles with talent evaluation. A couple of years ago he wanted to trade Bregman for some flavor-of-the-month player. When I objected to trading him and said that I thought Bregman would be good, I was assured by VD/nathan that we already had Bregman 2.0 in our minor league system. The player was Reid Brignac. Yes, that Reid Brignac, the 33-year-old journeyman infielder with a career BA of .219 and a career OPS of .573. Need I say more (additional examples upon request)? As soon as I see who is proposing the deal, I just laugh. He wanted some clown named Dietrich and opposed extending Springer. He would have gutted our roster in the off season. I don't want to try to deal for a guy who put us on a no-trade list.

I am more concerned with extending Cole and Springer than adding Baumgarner.

Straw is a threat to Corch’s nephew, Marisnick, so he will make any nutty claims he thinks will shed a bad light on Straw. Ignore it. If Jake wasn't around you would need a new whipping boy. Once that pitiful excuse for a player is rightfully defenestrated out into Crawford street, I’ll find a new whipping boy.

Yeah he really sucked last night........2 for 4 with a home run and double. Correa=3 K's. Sprnger=-3 K's Why don't you want White out on Crawford Street? He is the worst excuse for a player we have had on the roster in years. He and Stassi are here because they are out of options and nobody else wants them I don't understand keeping useless clowns like those two around. Jake will be here until someone proves they are better at filling his role. As of yet, we have not seen one who can. On another note, I remind you: Marisnick: .288 BA, .333 OBP ,859 OPS .525 SLG Altuve .243 BA 329 OBP .801 OPS .472 SLG Would you like to put Jose on Crawford Street, too? No, I wouldn't.

White sucks, too. I deal with 1 problem at a time. Once Joke is deleted, I will move on to White if he’s still sucking.
Edited to add: Holy shit. You just compared Joke to MVP Altuve. Stop drinking immediately, and report to the nurses station for your lithium.

For $20M/yr., yes. For $30M/yr., no way. His ERA+ is in it's 4th year of decline. Bad trend. I know it is a hypothetical question....but I don't see a scenario where the Giants can leverage a 3 year extension situation to the Astros...their end is only a 1/2 season...so any trade compensation should be based on that.....and I think Bukauskas should be the prize piece in a packaged deal for Bumgarner....Now after the Astros obtained Bumgarner, if his mechanics/velocity all warrants a 3 year extension, I would be for it....At $30M a year, no, but $22.5 to $25M a year for 3 years, yes. Since Bum has the Astros on his no trade list, the deal must include both him and the Giants. He first has to be offered a package sufficient to waive his no trade and the Giants still have to make the trade. It shifts power from the Giants to Bum, but both have to be willing participants.
I suspect the first step is to allow Bum to talk with another team if they're on his no trade list. Then negotiate a contract, and that's where the 3 year request comes in. If they agree, the package to the Giants still has to be sufficient for them to do the deal.
It makes it harder, but not impossible.
At this point, I'd rather sign an extension with Miley. I'm just not sold on Bum as a #1 money type of pitcher into the future. I see him as a 31-60 range pitcher from here out or #2 caliber.

I did offer an extension of Miley as an alternative to Bum.

Breaking: Corbin Martin is expected to make his ML debut for the Astros tomorrow afternoon. He will start in place of Collin McHugh who is headed to the bullpen for the time being So then the question becomes who is dfa to open space on the 25 man roster or who goes to the INJURED LIST. So now the first shoe has dropped with Martin, the next one for Alvarez should not be too far behind.

I'd personally rather see Mayfield as a legit 2B than calling up another OF.

But not to baseball message boards. I used to visit most of the mlb boards before they pulled the rug out from under us.
As far as the grammar, syntax, and spelling, I'm tempted to give VooDoo a pass for some of it because he's posting from mobile. I could write some of it off as fat-finger-syndrome. But there's so damned much of it, that it's annoying AF.
There always seems to be that one guy who wants to buy and sell across the board even when it isn't necessary. I guess we know who that is here.
Thanks for taking me under your wing. Truly, I think he's also from Puerto Rico or South America, so probably English isn't his first language.

I am only saying Jake is better than White. That’s like saying a broken finger is better than a broken toe. Please enough of the Pillsbury Dough Man at DH. Every time I see his Fat smiling Face behind that Ugly Ass Beard I cringe. As a DH he should be hitting getting RBI's. With only 1 RBI he has to be the worse and yet someone in here will Post different.
