To put Jake's strikeout problem in some perspective, and because I have to wonder whether he is having vision problems with such a ridiculously high propensity to K, Dickie Thon -- who famously got hit in the face by a pitch and had blurry vision afterwards -- "only" struck out in 11 of 43 plate appearances in his first month back from the injury. That's a rate of 25.6%, about half that of Jake's. And Thon had medically-verified blurry vision.

He struck out the side to start the game with Altuve and Springer looking at pitches straight down the middle of the plate. |

The reincarnation of Cy Young, as usually happens when the other team calls some random guy out of AAA to face the Astros. I'm really sorry about giving the wrong game time by the way. Just woke up myself. I could've sworn that earlier this week I saw the game time listed as 3pm Central. Just getting senile I guess. |
