I'd say Jake was in Ensberg territory but Ensberg was never this bad

At this point I really wonder if he isn't having some kind of vision problems. I can't think of any hitter striking out in 11 of 12 ABs. Maybe it's happened some time in the last 20 years but I can't think of a case.

If I try to put myself in Jake's shoes, I would request a thorough physical and also a reassignment to AA Corpus Christi. just make totally sure there isn't a medical reason for the drop-off in playing ability, and try to regroup on a less stressful stage, and one that doesn't hurt the team if it takes a while for him to come around.

If it were possible to make an "offensive error", Gattis should be given one today. Gattis is better-paid than a lot of surgeons at the Medical Center, and those people would be in big trouble for "losing the plot" the way Gattis did.

Coming into tonight's game, 3 of MLB's top 10 starting pitchers by ERA were Astros: Morton (#5), Cole (#7), and Verlander (#9)

Stassi had his first big league AB in 2013, and it was with the Astros. He's been in the system all this time. He consistently generates some of the highest exit velocities of any Astros hitter and that allows a disproportionate number of his fly balls to get over the fence.
