Team is falling apart. If Cole has issues tonight and is out for awhile I have a bad feeling how this season ends.

If he’s out 6 weeks that’s into October. Playoff time.

Great, now Pressly is out 4-6 weeks. Biggest problem in Baseball, the pen. With teams going to the well and asking to give four innings a game in some cases, it is too much of a load of being over worked.

I'd like to chalk all these injuries up to Luhnow "9th dimensional chess", but I think we all know better.

Glad we got Peacock back. We get James back soon too. Hopefully they can help cover some of the workload decently until he gets back.
I'm more concerned about Correa. Like him or not, when he's healthy he makes our lineup really deep. We need that against the Yankees. At least they know what is wrong with Pressly and are fixing it....Correa is just a wait and hope approach.

I guess they'll bring Biagini back now that Elvis has left the building.

Also...from Rotoworld....
Astros purchased the contract of INF Abraham Toro from Triple-A Round Rock.
Jack Mayfield was optioned to the minors in a corresponding move, paving the way for Toro to get semi-regular playing time on the Astros' infield while Carlos Correa recovers from a back injury. He'll mostly play third base, presumably, with Alex Bregman handling the majority of the starts at shortstop. Toro, 22, was batting .324/.411/.527 batting line with 17 home runs, 31 doubles, 80 RBI, four stolen bases, and 82 runs scored in 114 games this season between Double-A Corpus Christi and Triple-A Round Rock. He's worth a try in mixed fantasy formats.

Great, now Pressly is out 4-6 weeks. When it rains, it pours. We have to hope that James is nearly ready. They may not be able to hold him back until September unless Peacock or Harris can handle the setup role.

I wonder why Toro over Tanileau when Tani is older... Age should have nothing to do with it....you call up your best player. When I was still coaching, if I had a Freshman who could out-play a senior, the freshman played. I had a few parents complain because underclassmen took their son's position......Too bad becaiuse the best player should play. I did the same in basketball....age and seniority played no part in my decisions and should not be a factor for the Astros when deciding on who to recall.

The majors are not high school. If two players are playing the same, see what the older one has to offer since you have more time with the younger player.

I'm still not over it. That was one of the most frustrating games I've seen from this team since they were good again. I know it wasn't a great lineup, but we still had all-star caliber (if not better) hitters 1-5, and then an above average catcher (who had 4 hits) hitting 6th. That lineup should have been able to score 3 runs against the lowly Tigers. Our 2-5 hitters went a combined 0-14. Unacceptable. If Chirinos went for that triple just to try to hit for the cycle, he needs his ass kicked. Altuve's blunder was just more of the crap that has become one of his trademarks and why he is a DUMBASS. Both plays were well within acceptable risks. I will not criticize them just because they didn't work this time. Just like the shift, you do it because you benefit over the long run, even if it cost you some times.
