So Straw came in for Altuve and grounded out to third base. He fit right in! I'm surprised they had Mayfield go back to AAA for that same reason

Why can’t we have nice things like shutouts?

Biagini and Sanchez are starting to look like lemons. It ran good for a few starts but suddenly the duck tape fell off.

The middle relief appears to be on schedule for a typical Astros postseason appearance

Dying laughing at Osuna doing the Sign of the Cross after Reddick’s catch.

If the little dumbass could have advanced George to third instead of striking out by reaching to swing at a pitch a foot outside George would have scored on Brantley's ground ball. Altuve NEVER tries to advance runners....just goes up and hacls awau. " src="//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/superangry.png"> Why advance the runner when you can always hit a home run? Unfortunately, that is his approach as it is for too many of our guys.

For this game to get to the point of the Tigers being inches from tying the game is ridiculous......Biagini gave up home runs on two batting practice pitches.....we don't need that crap. I will be glad when James is ready.
We blew enough scoring chances to have scored at least 10 but we won and that is important. Altuve still needs a day off.

As much as I harp on the hitting, 6 runs was enough to win. It was a great all-around game before Biagini toed the rubber. Good thing Reddick was there to steal that possible home run.

Biagini and Sanchez are starting to look like lemons. It ran good for a few starts but suddenly the duck tape fell off. Possibly, but we got them for practically nothing. They're cheap and can eat some innings. I think Sanchez was more a project for the future rather than immediate help/results.

As frustrated as most of us are/have been during this recent trend of mediocre play, we're now just a game away from the best record in the AL. Just have to keep holding on for a couple more weeks and stay/get healthy.

I’d like for the Astros to have it, but then again should we be that afraid of the Yankees and their stadium? Last year, we won the first game in Boston and almost won the second game. A fluke positioning on defense robbed Bregman of a gamewinner against the lucky as hell Kimbrel. It’s all relative, I guess. Oakland is clearly the hottest team currently among the three of them. Worry about them.

The Astros are streaky, so if they're relatively cold now, they're lined up well to get hot at the right time.

The decision about the worth of Homefield Advantage is an easy one: Look at the home record this year.

I agree that it’s easier to score from third base, but nearly half of those ways involve a mistake by the opposing team. Altuve has the speed to score from second with two outs easily. Reddick, pinch running for Chirinos, has the same. The old adage that you should never make the first or third outs at third base applies. *****

I am not worried about winning the division......never have been. BUT, no matter what you think. we NEED home field advantage . Fortunately for us, the A's swept the Yankees and we are withing one game of the Yankees for home field advantage.....Yankees play a three game series in LA against the Dodgers this weekend while we host the Angels. We have a good shot at taking the lead in the race for home field and that is very important.

Home field advantage is nice, but plenty of teams win without it.
