I was assured a couple of months ago, by our resident expert, that we have absolutely nothing to worry about in regards to Oakland. We're 7 games up with like 30 games to go. Are you really worried? I'm not worried, per se, but I do recognize that a string of us playing poorly (or god forbid, an injury to Cole/JV) and them playing well could absolutely make things turn out ugly.

We could play .250 ball and totally collapse. It's always possible. But there is no reason to think that will happen.

But we've been on pace for 100 wins all season. If we suddenly didn't reach that and Oakland passed us, it's just time to drink. And I don't even drink.

As good as you guys say Oakland is... they still can't hit the .600 winning % mark on the season. Until that happens, I'm not flinching

No, but it shows why we need home field advantage.........NY won all three games there in 2017. We won the season series this year 4-3 by winning all three in Houston. The Yankees took 3 of 4 at Ysnkee Stadium. Odds are in our favor if we have home field advantage.

Again, I've never said homefield advantage wouldn't be ideal. I just think, if given the choice, I'd rather have our team completely healthy than wear out players we don't have to and risk injury or fatigue. This team, if completely health, is good enough to beat anybody anywhere. We NEED to make sure our guys are rested and ready to go for the postseason more than we NEED homefield advantage.

No reason we can't have both if everyone steps up and produces.
