Astros haven’t gotten a walk in this game. Scored 5 runs in 18 innings in this series.

You don't have to IL him to rest him with the September call ups. A guy like Springer you should. He'll be begging to get in there. Get him in sweats so he is forced to chill. Bring up Tanielu. I am all for bringing up Straw and Tanielu. Who do you drop from the 40-man roster to make room for Tanielu. I say Mayfield.

I don’t think Springer will be agreeable to a 10-day IL rest break. He would miss the Oakland series.

Straw will probably be up once he has been at RR 10 days. Brantley needs rest.

The offense has hit a lull these past four games. The highest they’ve scored is four runs. Luckily, they won two of them. It seems like the pitching has to be perfect now while they figure it out with the bats.

AJ said George is OK so I doubt if he goes to the IL...........One pitch killed Greinke and no hitting cost us the game.

I hope this Greinke deal doesn't come back to bite us. Your comment and Greinke’s showing so far with the ‘stros made me recall a post I made on the MLB Trade Deadline thread well before the trade: olpapa Avatar olpapa Veteran *** Jul 9, 2019 at 8:53am Quote likePost Options MLB Trade Deadline. “What are your thoughts on Robbie Ray and Andrew Chafin of the D’Backs? I was looking at Ray’s numbers vs those of Greinke. Over the last few years it looks like Ray has gotten stronger down the stretch while Greinke has faded. Chafin looks like a decent bullpen lefty.”

That is what amazes me about Cashman, the trades he pulls off and the talent he gets back. While never really giving up any of their top prospects.

The 100% effort that Springer shows every game is a big reason Luhnow should try his best to sign him to a long-term deal. Pay the guy. He has earned it and continues to earn it every time he comes to the ballpark. Such a contrast between Springer and Correa. Springer is all about the team. Correa seems to be full of himself. Here it is September and Springer is still busting his butt every game just like he was on opening day. Correa is back at MMP hitting balls off a tee.....for the second year in a row. That’s all that needs to be said in order to determine which guy we keep long-term.

That has to be a nightmare of every Stros fan, Hader on the hill in the ninth inning of game seven. I said when Luhnow threw Hader into the Gump and Tattoo trade that I believed Hader would be the player we most regret giving up in that deal. Every time I see Hader on the mound my disdain for Gomez increases. The Brewers got the best lefty the Astros farm has seen in years..., possibly ever. We got a guy who specialized in falling down in the batters box after swinging and missing pitches, and who in the outfield ran around in circles trying to find the baseball while McHugh stood watching and saying to himself, “WTF is he doing?”

I agree for the most part...I do think Correa cares about the team and his players, but to him baseball might just be his job....and there is nothing wrong with that, because that is exactly what it is ....whereas, with Springer, you get the feeling it goes beyond that, he has true passion for the game.... And yes, I am for trading Correa....Astros with their team salary, key players to re-sign or extend and to have promising players in positions of need, should maximize/market Carlos' trade value/appeal with 2 years of team control to the trade block.
