That has to be a nightmare of every Stros fan, Hader on the hill in the ninth inning of game seven. I said when Luhnow threw Hader into the Gump and Tattoo trade that I believed Hader would be the player we most regret giving up in that deal. Every time I see Hader on the mound my disdain for Gomez increases. The Brewers got the best lefty the Astros farm has seen in years..., possibly ever. We got a guy who specialized in falling down in the batters box after swinging and missing pitches, and who in the outfield ran around in circles trying to find the baseball while McHugh stood watching and saying to himself, “WTF is he doing?” Any teams you think would be very interested in trading for Carlos in the upcoming offseason?

Sadly with his (ahem) injury history and attitude, sadly his trade value will not be as lucrative as we hope.

I don't see the attitude part....Yes, his fiance might be a minor distraction, but that's today's youth, everything is social media

Maybe AJ should let Greinke skip a start and see if he pitches better afterward. Dude has been getting hit like a piñata. It’s getting bothersome. But! He got one of the few hits we had in the game.

In his ROY year, and soon afterwards, I saw superstar in waiting, and substantial level of hustle and desire. Gradually, ( and again IMO) I see a gradual increase in lackadaisal play and intensity. It may be playing hurt, or for what ever reason.

We gave up a heck of a lot for Grienke. Hope we don't in retrospect regret this deal. That is what amazes me about Cashman, the trades he pulls off and the talent he gets back. While never really giving up any of their top prospects. Your continuous admiration for the New York Mary Sues is traitorous and unacceptable. You must choose. There can be only one!

The 100% effort that Springer shows every game is a big reason Luhnow should try his best to sign him to a long-term deal. Pay the guy. He has earned it and continues to earn it every time he comes to the ballpark. Such a contrast between Springer and Correa. Springer is all about the team. Correa seems to be full of himself. Here it is September and Springer is still busting his butt every game just like he was on opening day. Correa is back at MMP hitting balls off a tee.....for the second year in a row. That’s all that needs to be said in order to determine which guy we keep long-term. My hunch is Luhnow's tried to extend George, but he wants to be a free agent elsewhere

She is #1 and what she wants or says takes priority over his job. I am sick of both of them and the crap they create.

If that would have been Correa crashing into a wall he would be out for the season.

If that would have been Correa crashing into a wall he would be out for the season. There is no question that CC at the shortstop position is most likely the best cutoff SS in MLB. He makes the acrobatic plays, but with the injury history the body cannot hold up to the play. He might have to make the switch to 3B, like some other stars made later in their career, without mentioning any names. After seeing Bregs play short and a few years ago comparing his play to CC at short, at that time it looked like that would be the better setup. But Bregs has shown he can handle the position very well.

If that would have been Correa crashing into a wall he would be out for the season. And his fiance would have been running out to the field in high heels....screaming: "O Papi"...and then next week we could watch her YouTube talking about her running and Carlos poor little head...

If that would have been Correa crashing into a wall he would be out for the season. If we don't trade the wimp, he will take them back to salary arbitrtation and want a raise after sitting on his candy ass for half the season. If he is still in an Astros uniform next season it shows management does not see this wimp for what he is.

I hope this Greinke deal doesn't come back to bite us. Your comment and Greinke’s showing so far with the ‘stros made me recall a post I made on the MLB Trade Deadline thread well before the trade: olpapa Avatar olpapa Veteran *** Jul 9, 2019 at 8:53am Quote likePost Options MLB Trade Deadline. “What are your thoughts on Robbie Ray and Andrew Chafin of the D’Backs? I was looking at Ray’s numbers vs those of Greinke. Over the last few years it looks like Ray has gotten stronger down the stretch while Greinke has faded. Chafin looks like a decent bullpen lefty.” I think he can turn things around, but it's certainly been a little scarier with him on the mound than expected. He's not pitching bad, but he continues to look more like a Dallas Keuchel than a Justin Verlander. Which would be fine if we weren't paying him JV money and gave up multiple prospects. That being said, we all wanted a pitcher with control past this year. We got it. I just hope he can be a little more reliable in the postseason.

Another two players for the Stros that I forgot to mention to catfish that made career position moves early were Bag's from third to first, and Lance from first to the OF. They were moves that paid off.
