I don't understand the questions about the ball not traveling as well as it did in the summer. Cold air is denser than hot air. Why the fuss? I suspect an analysis of game temperature and HR rates would bear this out. Corch has forbidden all discussions of weather. Sorry. So Corch is raining on Marshall's parade? lol

One should never count their chickens before they hatch but ...
considering the Yankees must win three games without a loss ...

But I would guess any Yankee player who twats probably hasn't done so after the game 3.

A-Rod is arrogant because he was good. Case closed. He was aided in being good by PED's......he cheated......case closed.

Do these people not understand that it is NOT illegal to steal signs or figure out that a pitcher tips his pitches?

So does anybody here NOT think that Abreu will be replaced by Straw on the WS roster (provided we advance)? That is a move that needs to be made.

Every pitch is either way outside where they aren't swinging or right over the middle. Verlander is pitching dumb right now

My wife was adamant about getting shirts tonight. So here we are standing outside of Academy waiting in line just to get in.
On the plus side, my wife works for Academy and this helps her bonus. 😁

In the Astros 7 wins they've outscored the Rays and Yanks 36-14. That's over 3 runs more per game (5.14) to (2.0)
In the Astros 4 losses they've been outscored 25-5. That's 5 runs per game (1.3) to (6.3)
All 4 losses have come from either Verlander's or Greinke's starts. Verlander 2-0 at home and 0-2 away. Greinke 0-1 at home and 1-1 away.
The World Series will be set up with Verlander having 2 home starts game #2 and game #6.
The only way the Nats can beat us is by beating Cole/Verlander/Greinke at least 3 times. Good luck!

If you had told me before the series that the Astros would collectively hit .179 I would have thought you were crazy, then I would have wondered how we got swept by NY. It's a testament to the team that they can look like Fido's butt and still win.

Can't wait for this series to start. We beat the Rays 3 games to 2 and the Yankees 4 games to 2. If math holds up we should beat the Nats 5 games to 2

As much as it pains me to say anything positive about a Yankee player, I have to admit that Gregorius showed unYankeelike class when he didn’t plow over Pressly when it was obvious that Ryan had injured himself and was pretty much defenseless when he tagged Didi out.

Gardner took Altuve’s home run ball, handed it to Bracamonte, and wished the team good luck in the World Series. That was pure class.

From most accounts, the Yankee players are mostly pretty good guys it seems like. It's the majority of the fans that are asshats.

The Nationals feel a lot like the 2005 Astros.
2019 Nationals:
93-69 Wild Card Winner Started off 19-31 AS/HOF Caliber Rotation led by a Multi-CY winning veteran. (Scherzer) Mediocre Offense led by an MVP candidate 3B. (Rendon) Missed out on a big name free agent OFer in the previous offseason. (Harper) Clubhouse Leader is an aging oft-injured 1B that has been a Nat his entire career who had never been to the WS. (Zimmerman)
2005 Astros:
89-73 Wild Card Winner Started off 19-32 AS Caliber Rotation led by a Multi-CY Winning veteran. (Clemens) Mediocre Offense led by an MVP candidate 3B. (Ensberg) Missed out on a big name free agent OFer in the previous offseason. (Beltran) Clubhouse Leader was an aging oft-injured 1B that was an Astro his entire career who had never been to a WS. (Bagwell)

I will say this...If somehow this series goes bad for us, I have no beef with the Nationals (now that Harper is gone). I would find it absolutely hysterical that Harper leaves and the Nats win it all. This is as opposed to say if we were playing the Dodgers, Cubs, Cardinals, Brewers. I would have been f***ing pissed if the Dodgers had won it in 17' (or if we were playing these teams and they beat us).
