I heard on a radio sport talk show that the flashers have been identified and that MLB has banned them from all ML ballparks.

I'm hearing all of these arguments about robo-umps now since last nights game.
Here's my suggestion if it's going to go that way eventually. Make the robo-ump call for strike 3 or ball 4 bitches ONLY.
Meaning if it's a 3-2 count and a borderline pitch then the robo-ump takes over for that call.
If it's a 2-2 count and it's called a strike then the robo-ump can quickly say yes or no.
But now my argument against robo-umps. It's not an exact science. Players are different sizes and stand different distances from the plate. Each player may have their own strike zone that isn't measured by a one-size fit all box. A real ump can access that real time. Plus pitchers pitch according to the style of ump for that game and if a player crowds the plate because he knows the pitcher on the mound can't throw an inside pitch well then the pitcher has to depend on the box for a strike and not the umps interpretation of the strike zone for that player.

That's interesting. Instead of going full robo-ump. Give each side 2 challenges for balls and strikes only. If they challenge then the stadium shows the pitch on the main screen showing whether it hit the plate or not and they go with that. Fast, easy, and moving on.
