It sounds like MLB was already looking into some of this stuff and hadn't found much before. A lot of paranoia, sour grapes, and bad blood is turning what should be a fairly minor thing into this big deal. I hope they release their findings and administer whatever punishment soon so we can move on.
I do believe something the team did crossed the line, but some of the biased news is getting out of hand. Not much we can do about it though.

The Kevin Goldstein email was a not particularly fortunate development. From the Goldstein email: "One thing in specific we are looking for is picking up signs coming out of the dugout. What we are looking for is how much we can see, how we would log things, if we need cameras/binoculars, etc. So go to game, see what you can [or can't] do and report back your findings." Hmmm.... what “we” are looking for.... Would these guys \/ be the “we” who are looking for how much “we” can see? “Baseball Operations President of Baseball Operations and General Manager | Jeff Luhnow Special Assistant to the General Manager | Craig Biggio Special Assistant to the General Manager | Enos Cabell Special Assistant to the General Manager | Roger Clemens Special Assistant to the General Manager, Player Personnel | Kevin Goldstein” I guess Clemens could always say they were gathering this information for his wife. Cabell had enough problems as a batter with pitch sequences to think he'd be an asset at sign deciphering

Hear me out on this one.....
Think about it. From the point of a catcher's sign, to a 100 mph pitch hitting the catcher's mitt, is likely in the neighborhood of 3-4 seconds.
Then work the process.....
From catching a sign in the OF, relaying that to a dugout member, the team mate mentally registering it, then banging on a object, to the batter hearing it, understanding it, and responding quick enough to a hit a 90-100 mph pitch? Seems the process of using this information would be tougher than the batter just straight up playing it and watching the pitch.
I am thinking that maybe the Astros created this cheating legend as ruse. Nothing better to get into an oppoents head, and for distractions.
OTOH.... The art and science of understanding pitch tipping is legal as hell. I think our inferior opponents realize we have the guns to make their lives miserable for at least 5 more years, and are grabbing (with MSM complicity) straws to level the playing field.

So the process I discussed before with its complexity does not give it merit? No way that much infomration, in conjunction with humanly reactions could pull this off with any sustainable success. Do you understand how hard it is to hit a 100 mph in the first place, without thinking peripherially about sign abberations.

You're suggesting that a professional sports team decided to pretend to CHEAT on a massive, historic scale in order to get into the heads of their opponents? Sober up.

What they were accurately able to do doesn't matter. What they tried to do, does.
If they TRIED to steal signs using cameras and such, it won't matter how effective they were. They still broke the rules and will be punished for it if there is enough evidence of it.

President Trump started the rumors about him breaking the law and created the constitutional crisis and impeachment process in this country...so he could get inside the heads of the Democrats.

Shit accusations from the inter webs? I can't help you believe click bait shit journalism? I am a strong proponent of risk/reward aspects of any sucessful organization. Considering the implications and likelyhood of getting caught, I have serious doubts that Lunow would be that stupid to put that much at risk. If the rest of you want to beieve everything you read on the www, then that's your business.. My skeptism is an acquired skill. Try it sometimes.

Do you know how hard it is to validate Astros fan conspiracy theories when Luhnow’s own assistant sent an email requesting scouts to commit acts claimed by their detractors?

Guys, it’s time to come to terms with Santa Claus not being real and the fact that the Astros aren’t run by angels.

President Trump started the rumors about him breaking the law and created the constitutional crisis and impeachment process in this country...so he could get inside the heads of the Democrats. There are two ways to look at being inside the heads of the Democratics: 1) It would be really scary to be surrounded by all of the BS floating around in there. 2) It would be the ultimate sensory deprivation being confined to a vacuum.

Just that we had scandal early on with the new management team despite being the victim in that particular instance. Could all be related as far as office culture is concerned
