I really don’t know how I feel about it. I’m a bit ambivalent pertaining to the whole thing. Let me be concise.
1. It is cheating to use video to transmit signals to hitters against the opposing pitchers, let’s face it. You don’t have to disagree just because you’re an Astros fan. It may be an extension of stealing signs, but it is still wrong. So many of us would be irate if the guilty party were some other team. Don’t lie. 2. I believe a heavy fine and draft pick penalty is forthcoming. 3. MLB needs to also focus on and punish teams like the Yankees, Red Sox, and other teams if they want to pick on us so often. 4. I don’t want to hear shit from Texans/Astros fans about the Patriots, Tom Brady, Bill Belichick, or Spygate when we lose to them for the umpteenth time if the Astros are found guilty of wrongdoing. 5. Mike Fiers should never step foot in Houston again, that worthless ingrate.
This team needs to clean up its image now. After the Taubman thing and now this, they need to avoid becoming an organization that repels talent.

I agree with everything you said. However, that was not concise.

I agree with mom that I will talk shit about Belichick and the Patriots because they deserve it. 3. The main reason we are hearing about this is because the Astros keep beating the Yankees and eliminating them. 4. The Astros are being blasted in the media mainly because of who they beat and they "don't like the culture" the Astros have established. 5. The astros have built a team that can compete with the big boys and the big boys don't like it and are going after them. 6. Mike Fiers is a butt hurt loser who got dumped by the Astros and then got hammered when he pitched against them.

They are even whining on mlb network that we stole signs when we hammered Darvish and kept him from getting a bigger contract in free agency. HAHAHAHAHA

I have another couple:
6. Enough with the overemphasizing analytics and launch angles. They need to get back to “see ball, hit ball”. It was so annoying to see both Astros and Nationals hitters march back to the dugout after getting out and grabbing one of several iPads and immediately looking for tells with the pitcher. Use your own wits and eyes to see tipping and signals. Show your real talent. I personally don’t think that stuff should be allowed in dugouts. 7. Also, how are we so sure the Nats didn’t cheat?

Game 7 is stupid to bring up cause it was in Dodger stadium. That's just lazy analysis as far as Fiers' accusation is concerned

OMB Would be proud. He always said he didn’t care if our players were rapist, arsonists, or wife beaters as long as they could win. We won the World Series and we have the bad guys. OMB was Playing chess while everyone else was playing checkers.

We also won Game 5 by a score of 13 to 12. I’m pretty sure our pitchers weren’t benefitting or also were messed with that night.

1. I think all teams do it to an extent. Doesn't make it right, but it puts it in context.
2. Where there is this much smoke, there is probably fire. I just don't think it's that big of a fire. The numbers show that, if we were cheating, it wasn't benefitting us that much at home until maybe the 2019 regular season. (It sure didn't in the postseason in 2019.)
3. If it was as major a thing happening all the time, how did so many people not know it was going on? No opposing catchers, umpires, first base coaches, etc. Nobody noticed something unusual?
4. I absolutely believe we were capable of it just based on some of our decisions/actions by the FO the last couple years. But I find it hard to believe that so many high integrity players would be okay with it (Altuve, Beltran, McCann, Verlander, Springer, etc.). Our players, outside of Bregman and Correa, never make the news for anything at all negative. But all of them were into it? And all the players and coaches we've had over the years that the team didn't keep...none of them would say anything until now?
5. When you're really good (and you've pissed off Yankee fans for repeated years), you're going to attract unwanted attention and trolls. Opponents want to make you out to be teh bad guy.
SOme of it just doesn't add up, even though I'm sure it's possible. The video reviews I've seen don't prove that the pitchers weren't tipping their pitches. We could for sure see it against Tampa Bay this year, and even Darvish said he was tipping his pitches in the 2017 WS.

Can’t totally hate on the Patriots if you support a team that also cheats (if proven). 2. You can always make fun of the Patriots but the whole “cheater cheater” nonsense makes us look like supporters of hypocrisy. 3. I agree that’s part of why we’re picked on at the moment. 4. The culture needs work. Taubman is a perfect example of unprofessional and boorish behavior. 5. Agreed. 6. Definitely agreed.

And if it was that well known and whispered about, why did opposing teams not change up signs, use extra signs, etc. when they came to Houston? Hell, as a kid that was a catcher we used 2-3 signs per pitch. Easy to fix.

I wonder if people have something on Bregman given his post-2017 struggles at the plate. For two straight years he’s killed it in the regular season and then disappeared on offense minus the sporadic home runs.

He walks consistently, but the AVG fluctuates. It just shows more in the postseason.

"The Athletic, citing two of its sources, said the system the Astros allegedly used extended into the postseason, while the report cited another source saying it ended before the playoffs."
Even the "sources" can't get their stories straight.
