Keuchel vs. Somebodywewon'thit
I haven't seen the lineup yet, but we can be sure that somebody will get a day off that needs to be playing, and somebody will be starting that shouldn't be.

Astros have struck out in 25.4 percent of their plate appearances with RISP. 5th worst in MLB

I guess if you're a positive person you can look at it that the offense has no where to go but up.
And, as bad as they've been, they're mostly barely being beaten. They still have the 6th best record in all of MLB (including the 4th most wins) and have the 2nd best run differential.
We have to keep reminding ourselves that this is a good team that has hit a very low point. They could get hot and dominate at any point.

If Keuchel gets hammered, don't be surprised if he goes to the 10-day DL with "soreness" or "discomfort. It's about that time of the year

In his defense, he has only given up more than 3 ER in a start once this season. And in that start he had no walks and gave up only one XBH. He had bad luck with some groundball dinkers (only 4 line drives in his 7 innings).
He's had remarkable bad luck on balls hit on the ground and he's gotten no run support. Outside of the only start he won, the offense has only scored 7 runs total in the other 6 starts. Barely 1 run per game...

Astros average 2.4 runs per Keuchel start. 4th worst run-support among qualified starters

Astros average 2.4 runs per Keuchel start. 4th worst run-support among qualified starters yes, he has not been blessed with run support but, none of them really have. It is a shame for our starters to be as dominating as they have been and either get no run support or have the bullpen blow the game after they are removed. Velander had that happen twice last week.

That post wouldn’t be so funny if it weren’t so true. Yesterday’s game is a good example. Over the last 7 days Yuli is batting .393 and has struck out just 3 times in 28 at-bats. Springer is batting .250 and every other position player is below .250. Who wasn’t in the starting lineup? Yuli. SMH.

Keeping Gattis as the DH is an automatic out and a joke.

Keeping Gattis as the DH is an automatic out and a joke. Especially when Tyler White and JD Davis are a short drive away. Wait, maybe there's still time for a lineup change.

One possibility for not bringing them up could be they're being dangled as trade bait

One possibility for not bringing them up could be they're being dangled as trade bait That would work for me too, as long as Luhnow gets one or more good players in return. Davis and White both deserve major league jobs. DAvis is hitting like a man possessed over 87 ABs and White has cut his strikeout rate by over 40% while also hitting very well -- including flashing HR power like we saw last season when he hit 3 HRs in consecutive ABs (something I cannot see had ever been done in Astros history).

One possibility for not bringing them up could be they're being dangled as trade bait I can understand that, but, we need a DH who isn't out as soon as he steps into the box.

Cross-post here from Trades thread. As we agonize over what Gattis is likely to do today, here are some possible trade targets the forum has suggested for DH and/or LF. One of them even can play backup C.
Yunel Escobar: .274/.333/.397 (98 OPS+) Matt Holliday: .231/.316/.432 (94 OPS+) Brandon Phillips: .285/.319/.416 (93 OPS+) Nick Markakis (7th in wRC+ among MLB outfielders as of today) Nicholas Castellanos (contract expires after 2019 season; 106 career OPS+ and running 130 OPS+ this year) Denard Span (FA at end of this year; 103 career OPS+ and 119 OPS+ this year) Charlie Blackmon Brian Dozier A.J. Pollock Joe Mauer (132 OPS+ this year, 126 OPS+ career - can play backup catcher like Gattis) C.J. Cron (contract with Rays expires after 2020 season; 118 OPS+ this year and 108+ for career)
Anyone else we should be looking at between now and July 31?

Is it just me, or does CJ Cron look like he could be Ken Giles' big brother?

It's amazing that only 7 designated hitters in the AL are hitting for wRC+ of over 100. Everyone else is a below average hitter by AL standards.
The only DH hitting worse than Gattis is Kendrys Morales of the Blue Jays. And that's not horrible for Toronto because at least they have Josh Donaldson and Steve Pearce to DH most of of the time.
By comparison, if Tyler White came up and hit this year just like he hit for the Astros last year, he would be the No. 5 ranked DH in the AL, situated between Joe Mauer and Nelson Cruz.
