Kemp, Tucker, White, Davis, Reed all in the lineup for Fresno today. Fresno manager must have borrowed the clipboard. He moved Kemmer....batting .133 with more strikeouts than walks and hits combined over his last 10 games....into #2 slot in Fresno batting order and moved Ferguson to #9.

It's been puzzling to see Kemmer go kaplooey like this. He's never done it before that I can remember Only thing I can imagine is he's got an injury of some sort. Might need a DL stint.

Was that bad baserunning or the runner knowing who’s at the plate?

Was that bad baserunning or the runner knowing who’s at the plate? Unfortunately now Gattis will lead off the next inning.

So much for Dallas as a ground ball pitcher.

That moves Max's OPS back over the .800 mark.

Astros need to go on about an 11 game winning streak. This is the way to announce the end of their offensive slumber.

Wasn’t Brett Anderson once a groundball specialist?

Brett Anderson clearly not related to Larry Andersen.

first game of the series too... time to thrash that bullpen and soften it up for the next two games.

Man, if Springer did anything with RISP against the D-Backs, we’re talking sweep.

Keuchel has himself some run support.

Man, if Springer did anything with RISP against the D-Backs, we’re talking sweep. If the Astros could consistently put a good hitter in the 9 spot, Springer would see a lot more hittable pitches like that last one from Anderson.

112mph, 28 degree launch angle, 462'. pretty swing as well on that Springer Dinger

Has an Astro starting pitcher worked with a 5 run cushion this year before tonight?

Bregman is such a great fielder, just goes a little loopey when he has too much time to throw it.

112mph, 28 degree launch angle, 462'. pretty swing as well on that Springer Dinger By comparison, we have to go back to June 6, 2017 to see Gattis hit a ball even close to that hard (111.7 mph, double to left). This year, Gattis's hardest hit ball was 103.9 mph (a single) back on April 2. Not sure if it's injury or age or the creeping effects of drug use earlier in life, but I just don't see how Gattis would turn things around (short of using steroids, which is not something anyone would want him to do.) Tyler White was hitting the 105.7/105.8 mph mark pretty consistently last season and, judging by the number of HRs he has hit this year at AAA, it looks like his average exit velocity is going up not down.
