Looks like Garcia had a strong first outing. 2 IP 4 Ks only 1 hit allowed. 21 strikes out of 30 pitches.

I have wanted the shift ban for years... Maybe with the shift ban it's the Angels' year finally. Maybe if Trout, Shohei, and Rendon plus our new crew can stay healthy. Pitching looked good last year and should be better this year. Spring always brings hope, but l'll wait and see. Fool me once... |

Yanier Diaz starting in LF today. Dirden in CF.
Pena batting first with Bregman batting second. I’m wondering if this will be the #1 and #2 in the batting order while Altuve is out. I’m thinking it will be Pena at #1 and either Bregman or Brantley at #2.

Phillies are supposedly looking for a right-handed hitting outfielder to serve as a 4th outfielder/platoon partner for Marsh in CF. Does trader-Dave have a 2B/SS he can trade us for Meyers?

So what do you guys think? Will Brown make a trade or will the team roll with Bannon or Machado until Jose returns?
If he makes a trade, I hope it will be for a guy who can play SS, 3B and 2B and who can hit at least in the .250 range. We don’t need another bench player who will be an automatic out.

He won't have a lot of power, but he appears a le to get on base well and he's had a good ST. He can play multiple infield positions, and he isn't getting any younger. |

Villar is still available. He didn't have a good 2022 season, but he's generally good for around league average or a little better offense. Plus he can play most of the infield reasonably.
He's be cheap and add depth to our infield even when Altuve is back.

As opening day approaches teams will be making moves in order to set their rosters for OD. I suspect that Brown is going to monitor the players who are DFA’d by other teams between now and opening day and if their is a middle infielder who would be a better option than Machado or Bannon, he will make a trade.
