Mets win Game 1 to clinch a wild card spot. I really don't want the Braves to make it so hopefully they can take Game 2 as well.

This Mets Braves double header is just straight bananas. Ridiculous Mets comeback and now Sale scratched with back spasms from a win or go home second game for Atlanta. Just wild.

Where did you get that assumption? I'm not assuming, just asking. The Braves didn't capitulate like the GuarIndians and the Washington Football team did, so I admire them for that. I wanted to know if Saint had the opposite view or if there was some other reason why he didn't want the Braves to get some postseason action.

It seems lots of Astros fans would put the Braves in their top five most hated teams still.

Yankee's First Living in NY gives a whole new perspective on how to dislike a team. They have that same attitude as DemonRats do with its our rightful place to win the WS or President as Kamala has said several times. Braves would be second

I guess I can see the reason but I can't really relate. The stuff in the '90s is so last century. But the Dodgers and Yankees are rich teams so I laugh at them when they fail to buy their way to championships. The Yankees have the rudest fan base in baseball. Insufferable braggarts who trash-talk others. And the mocking sound-effect when a batter from an opposing team strikes out is bush league. So yeah, f*ck 'em. F*ck 'em with a rake.

Only accurate when you observe this is the PLAYOFF roster. The full-season roster included Javier Baez and Kenta Maeta. And they're both on the books next year. In any case, the Tigers are a low-budget team.

The best parody site, even better than The Onion. My favorite was the "Californian Move to Texas" series.

This may be crazy and/or stupid, but what about re-signing Bregman to a 5 year/$150 deal? Trade both Tucker and Valdez for major hauls. Hopefully attach Pressly to either the Tucker or Valdez deal.
Replenish the team with high end prospects, with at least 4 of them being major league ready.
In the meantime, with the money saved, get some shorter term rentals of experienced vets. Astros would look at 1B (Goldschmidt or Walker), OF (best OF they can get for 2 year/35M or less), One Solid Starter (Max 3 year/$48M) and two relievers (hopefully both just 1 year deals with 2nd year team options, nor more than 8M AAV for either reliever).

Works in theory, but I just don't see any way they trade Tucker.

Even Thomasj13 knows when it makes more sense to retool, by trading away your top players. Ones you have very little to no chance in extending. I think the team will definitely take a step down by trading away Tucker and Valdez, but I think they can lessen it by signing key free agent vets to short term deals. Since Bregman is now already a pending FA, and they truly don’t have anything from within, to fill his void, then re-sign him. FTR - Yes, Tucker >>> Bregman, but Bregman’s possible contract should be more team friendly, in both years and $$$$. Therefore, the Astros would have a greater chance in retaining him.

Which teams would be most interested in Tucker and Valdez?
And anyway to bundle Pressly’s contract into the deal?

I'm doubtful as well, but you never know. The time to strike would be now after the injury.

Would these teams be most interested in Tucker? Phillies, Orioles, Cubs, Dodgers and Red Sox? I know a few Yankee fans that is they fail to resign Soto would go for Tucker, especially with the short porch, but in the same league I would doubt it.
