That's not how you become an MVP, Correa.

Told you... that first pitch set up the pitcher to get Correa guessing. Held on a fastball and swung again out of the zone.
Game is just not in the cards today

why did he swing at that Sherwin Overanxious? He’s better than that, though.

Correa tried to be a hero on the first pitch. I don’t get him. He’ll take so many third strikes but then swing at that laugher.

Correa really handed him that 3rd out on a silver platter. He either overpowers hitters with that 99-100 mph fastball over 15 pitches or he runs out of gas and starts walking * giving up hits. At the very least Correa could have worked a walk.

Every player who had an at- bat for the ‘stros tonight should go to Cole and apologize.

On the plus side, if we can still win the final two games of the series we'll increase our lead in the division.

Every player who had an at- bat for the ‘stros tonight should go to Cole and apologize. This has been occurring often enough to get very annoying.

If Anaheim goes with Middleton in the 9th, the Astros still have a good shot as he's thrown 38 pitches over the last 2 days. They could go with Jimmy Paredes, who just came up from AAA too, but he's pretty soft. I don't think they will stick with the guy from the 8th inning but who knows....

sometimes I think these head-scratching lineups from Hinch are not really his fault. What probably happens is that Luhnow sits down with him and says: I want to see how the following players do over X number of plate appearances. Because he feels he needs a certain sample size to make a sabermetrically-sound decision.
So, even when Hinch doubts a player's ability, he knows that the speediest way to get that guy off the active roster is to meet Luhnow's PA quota quickly... thus these guys get starts.

I'm giving Hinch and Luhnow the benefit of the doubt, just like I'm trying to give our struggling players the benefit of the doubt. They've built magic on this team.
