Whoa whoa, nothing wrong with backward hats. Griffey Jr. did it. What I do is to try to take my hat and and I turn around, and it's like a switch that goes on. And when the switch goes on, I feel like another person, I feel, I don't know, I feel like a ....feel like a truck...Like a machine It's the vodka.

I was lamenting about why some white people start their sentences with Yo.... Maybe he was researching Stallone since he was a 1976 pioneer using the phrase in Rocky !. (Yo Andreine)

The MVP is an individual award, not a Team award. That's what pennants and rings are for. Just as the Cy Young and ROY awards are individual awards.
Verlander and Cole had as much or more to do with the success of the Astros as Bregman. The Astros had the best rotation in the AL, ROY, and really good position supporting cast. Don't get me wrong Bregman had a great season, but if Trout hadn't missed the final 3 weeks or if they occurred near the beginning of the season this wouldn't be a conversation.
Even Trout missing the last 3 weeks it was his best season yet.
Trout is the best player in baseball when he's on the field. Seems like a great guy with his head on straight. I hope his durability issues become a thing of the past because I'd love to see a full season of production from him. From 2012-2016 Trout played 157 to 159 games. In 2017 he lost time due to a thumb injury sliding into 2nd base; I think Correa had the same injury. It cost him the MVP to Altuve. Last year he missed a week or so with a hamstring pull and then his brother in law, a former Angel pitching prospect died, and Trout took some more time off and lost the MVP to Betts. Betts had at least as good of year as Trout and was on a post season team. Betts was the favorite to it and he did. This year Trout had a growth in his foot, he played with it for a month or so until he just couldn't play any longer. He said it was like walking with a stone in your shoe. If he would have missed the same amount of time in April instead of September this wouldn't even be a subject for discussion, I think Trout wins for the 3rd time, some say he should have won 5 by now.

I think you're probably right, but the thing to remember is that it DID happen in September and that the missed time hurts his value to the team no matter how good he is the rest of the time. 30 games is just too much time to miss if it's a close race.

If the Angels had a chance for a wild card Trout would played through the injury. He had for a month already, but they was nothing to be gained by playing hurt at the time he decided to have surgery. So if it costs him the award, so be it...

I don't see how Trout is better than Bregman this year by any means.
WAR is also a flawed stat to go by. A player on a bad team could make a difference of 10 wins if he didn't play. Meaning that team could win 75 games but without their main player could have only won 65. But if that same team had one or two more prime superstars on their team then that player (with the same stats and games played) may have only contributed to only 5 more wins. Meaning the team could win 100 games but without the player they win only 95.
Bregman has a WAR over 8. That means if he didn't play the Astros would have had under 100 wins this year. He essentially brought a very good team to elite status. That is actually harder to do.

One more thing. I feel Trout is less valuable because he cost his team a much higher draft pick. Without Trout the Angels could have picked in the top 3 instead of getting the 10th pick. What a selfish player! Can't get you to the post season but good enough to keep you out of getting another great player.

Angels should trade Trout to us also while eating $390M of his contract for Marisnick....so being still stuck with his salary would disuade them from signing any notable FAs....they would tank for years to come, but at least it would be building up their farm...just looking out for them.

Trout had to face possibly the best rotation in baseball of the Astros and 4 against the Dodgers, while Bregman got to feast on the second worst rotation in baseball of the Angels.

If we can deal in hypotheticals, you also don’t know if Trout would’ve tailed off at the end. Three weeks is a long time.

That's about a .200 point drop from his season OPS, while Bregman slashed .313/.471/.731/1.203/8 HRs against the Angels over 19 games.
